What’s New: Ty Segall – Fried Shallots EP

Ty Segall is universally known as one of today’s most prolific artists – stacking at somewhere around 50 albums, EPs, singles, and splits – all in under 10 years. And that’s not even considering the countless collaborations and the handful of other groups that Ty is also involved in.

Yesterday, the garage-rock god himself returned with yet another 2017 release: Fried Shallots. This six-track EP follows his Sentimental Goblin EP from March and his self-titled album from January.

According to a press release, Fried Shallots features “a handful of numbers from different times and places over the past few years that all work together in a weird way.”

All sales for this album will benefit the ACLU, “whose defense of our rights is badly needed now – especially in the face of the government pigs who don’t care about the constitution and are determined to thin our herd so that they and their corporate sugar-daddies can grow ever fatter off the deprivations of the common man-clan!” (courtesy of Drag City).

Listen to “Big Man” below and purchase the EP in it’s entirety via Bandcamp.
There is also a physical release available for preorder on Drag City scheduled for release on August 25th.
